Criminal history checks

Is your top-rated applicant hiding something?

Theft, violence, lawsuits and replacing unsuitable hires can cost you far more than a thorough background screening. To uncover criminal histories that may be important in your hiring process, we provide a variety of court record searches, from the county level to statewide and federal district courts.

Court record searches

County Criminal Records
The gold standard of reliability. We investigate the felony and misdemeanor records of the counties where your applicant lived in the past seven years. These are hands-on or electronic searches of the actual court indices, not third-party databases. With access to over 3200 counties (every county in every state, and including Puerto Rico), we can help ensure that your business and employees are protected.

Statewide Criminal Records
An excellent complement to county searches. Statewide searches can enhance (but not replace) county searches by locating charges in counties where your applicant may not have lived. Available in the majority of states.

Multi-state Criminal/Sex Offender Databases
A comprehensive, multi-state search. The criminal/sex offender database can indicate charges in jurisdictions other than those provided by your applicant. Because the database is compiled from state and selected county records, each nationwide charge is verified at the county level to confirm its accuracy.

Federal District Criminal Records
Serious offenses can indicate serious risk. Especially useful in screening for upper-level management positions, these courts include nearly all federal cases. We provide searches in all federal districts, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam.

International
Criminal history checks everywhere your applicant has lived/worked. International searches may be performed at the local or national level. Available in nearly every country in the world.

Globalcheck
Determine if your applicant is associated with terrorism or on government watch lists. Globalcheck is a Patriot Act name search of fourteen databases, including OFAC (Office of Foreign Asset Control) Specially Designated Nationals & Blocked Persons, FBI Most Wanted and Interpol Most Wanted.
