New Jersey’s Data Privacy Act establishes comprehensive consumer privacy protections and imposes new compliance obligations on businesses that collect or process personal data. The law grants consumers rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain copies of their data, while allowing them to opt out of targeted advertising, data sales, and certain profiling activities. It also expands applicability beyond many other state privacy laws, includes stronger protections for sensitive data, and is enforced exclusively by the state attorney general.
