As part of ongoing expansions, the E-Verify system now can check driver’s license data from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico for those using it through the “web” interface. The enhancement, which was made possible through a new partnership with the National Law Enforcement Tracking System (NLETS), aims to provide E-Verify with immediate access to a national database of driver’s license data, without the need to set up separate agreements. Employers are advised to become familiar with the NLET partnership and how it will affect their own business.
