Data released by Quest Diagnostics shows that drug use in the United States workforce increased by double digits between 2015 and 2017 in five major industry sectors, including Transportation and Warehousing; Other Services; Finance and Insurance; Retail Trade; and Wholesale Trade. Marijuana topped the list as the most detected substance, testing highest in Accommodation and Food Services, with eight other sectors experiencing at least 20 percent increases in the drug’s positivity rates. The amphetamine positivity rate grew year-over-year, as did methamphetamine and cocaine.
